How to Transition From An OB to A Midwife
Your pregnancy and birth is sacred. Anyone who is on your birth team should understand it is an honor to be there.
Do not stay with a provider simply because it's what everyone else has done or you are confused about how so you don't even feel like trying. If you do not like your OB or Midwife, you owe it to yourself and your child to switch to a provider that aligns with you and your views.
One question I like to ask my clients who are on the fence is "If this was your only child, what would you want that experience to be like?"
I transitioned from an OB to a Midwife at 4 months pregnant, with no background knowledge on how and with no one in my family having done it prior to me. With that experience i was able to layout exactly how you can do it to!
This process is a lot simpler than you think. You are 4 steps away from having an empowered birth with a provider you actually like.
